I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphasis in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown in
May 2000.  While there, I was a scholarship recipient, was on the Dean's List and was inducted into Psi Chi, the National Honor Society
for Psychology.

I received my Master of Social Work degree in the Mental Health Concentration from the University of Houston Graduate School of
Social Work in May 2002.  While there, I was a scholarship recipient and the President of the U of H Chapter of NACSW.

As part of my training, I completed required and advanced internships from 2001 to 2002 as a psychotherapist at Cypress Creek
Hospital, a free-standing inpatient psychiatric facility, under the supervision of Linda Meeds, LCSW.

I have worked as a psychotherapist at Cypress Creek, Kingwood Health Center (now Kingwood Pines), and IntraCare North hospitals.  
For almost four years, I worked as part of a group practice as an outpatient therapist and clinical test administrator for a
Neuropsychologist in Kingwood, Texas. I have been in private practice as a solo practitioner since February 2006.

In July 2009, I became certified as a Clinical Supervisor by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.

Areas of interest and focus include overcoming obstacles and barriers, natural approaches to health and wellness, blended families,
single parent families, couples counseling, faith-based counseling, cultural issues, women's issues and care for the caregiver issues.







A native Houstonian, I have been married for 24 years and have four children, ages 28, 27, 26 and 22 years old, and two stepchildren
ages 29 and 31.

Prior to the completion of my degrees and in addition to raising my children, I regularly participated in volunteer work with various
populations including the homeless, addicted, incarcerated, indigent and abused. It was through this work that I became inspired to
complete my degrees and make helping people my occupation.
